Collaborations between nationally ranked community colleges and world-renowned universities are at the heart of Houston GPS. Working together, these institutions have developed programs that provide students with academic options that are affordable, accessible, and most importantly, achievable.
When enrolling at a community college, students take first-year courses in a broad area of study called a meta-major that meet requirements for four-year degrees at a university. Houston GPS meta-majors include:
To add predictability and ease scheduling on working students, colleges will work to schedule courses in consolidated and compressed time blocks, consistent each semester.
Based on predictive analytics, acts as an early warning system to monitor student progress and meet the needs of individual students through targeted intervention. Advisors more effectively track progress and provide early assistance.
